"The correctional Institute in Belle Glade is being closed permanently as of the first week in December. There are 100+ cats at the prison that inmates have been feeding who will be left homeless to starve once the facility closes. We have begun removing cats from the location. This move will inundate our already burdened shelter. If you or a friend can adopt one of our "prison cats" we will waive the adoption fee, the cat(s) will be sterilized, vaccinated, micro-chipped and will come with a $500.00 medical voucher for "after care". The cats must go to good homes and cannot simply be accepted and released into the wild. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 KJV
If we really seek the things of God above all else, He promises to provide all of your other needs. Not 10%, not 50%. All. You either believe it—or you don’t.
“God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 NLT
Do you love God? Are you actively seeking your kingdom purpose? Then everything that happens to you is allowed by God; or is the will of God. Do you really believe this? If you doubt this Scripture when you face difficulties in life, then you really don’t believe what God says in Romans 8:28. It’s a faith issue, a trust issue.
Consider what Joseph said to his brothers—the very ones who sold him into slavery:
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.” Genesis 50:20 NLT
Meditate on what Moses says here in Deuteronomy to Israel about the fact that God let many bad things happen to them:
“Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands. Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. For all these forty years your clothes didn't wear out, and your feet didn't blister or swell. Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.” Deuteronomy 8:2-5 NLT
Zechariah even goes so far as to say that the fires and trials of life lead to a dependency on God:
“I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’” Zechariah 13:9 NLT
David even says that his own suffering taught him a most valuable lesson:
“My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.” Psalms 119:71 NLT
These are all promises from God. The same Guy who spoke the earth into existence. The mighty King of the universe, which literally means, “everything that exists everywhere.”
He promises protection (Genesis 15:1), provision (Hebrews 3:18-19), personal involvement (Matthew 28:20), and, end the end, purification for all His people (Titus 2:14).
The real question is this: do you believe Him. It’s that simple.
You get to make the choice. Do you believe the lies Satan is constantly throwing at you (especially in the dark), or do you believe the Creator? Who do you trust? And this is the most important and difficult decision you’ll ever make.
